“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”(Hebrews 11:6).

“These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God“(Genesis 6:9).
In the story of Noah’s Ark, Noah is challenged to walk out on faith to meet a task that he was unfamiliar with. He is given instructions with precise measurements on how to build the ark for a reason that he couldn’t reasonably understand at the time? At this point, there is certainly room for doubt. Would you agree?Think about it, there was no record of any prior history of rain, nor was there any past history of a boat, ship, or ark. Why do we need an Ark?For that matter what is an Ark? This was absolutely blind faith, or as recorded in Scripture, walking by faith and not by sight. This is a spiritual gift that the Creator has provided for all believer’s. “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3). The teaching of how to administer and use of this spiritual attribute is required in this exercise. The faith of Noah may seem impossible, “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God All things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). Scripture also teaches us that it only takes faith the size of a mustard seed together with faith in God to accomplish any deed. Consider the testimony as recorded by the synoptic gospels, Peter when instructed by Jesus to walk on water in the NT, by faith did walk. “And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus” (Matthew 14:28-29).
“But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?“(Matthew 14:30-31).
If we unpack the context in these Scriptures, we can observe how there are four spiritual parallel’s, or common denominators that are consistently suggested in this topic of faith. First, we are talking about the believer’s personal walk of faith in God. Ask yourself, How is my walk of faith? Second, we observe how even though Peter literally did walk on water, Jesus described it as “little faith”. Now before you are too quick to judge Peter; you will first have to walk on water yourself. Thirdly, you must believe, and not doubt. “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith“(Mark 11:22-23). Fourth, in each passage the faith is only activated through confession. In other words we must speak, say, or confess our positive confessions of faith. Consider the above passage written by Mark, he admonishes the believer using the word say four times and uaing the word believe only once. This implies the emphasis suggest how significant our confession of faith is over what we believe.
What does all of this have to do with the topic of establishing proper basketball form?
You will never learn how to shoot a free-throw with any accuracy until you first learn how to establish proper form. As in most everything, there is one exception (Joakim Noah, Chicago Bulls) but even he is consistent with his form, and therefore reasonably accurate on the free throw line. He consistently shoots his free throw with the most obscure form. Which in its own way teaches us that even if the form is considered odd, or unusual if you are consistently using the exact same form each time you go to the line; your average will become consistent. This book will teach from a very real coach perspective. My teaching technique is straight-forward but never meant to offend. Therefore, please do not take any comments personally. I am positive that there will be nothing said that has not been said before; probably by your training coach. Perhaps, only stated or taught in a different way. Please purchase the book on this website to read the entire chapter.
