We have talked about the spiritual, physical, and mental requirements needed to excel on the free-throw line. In this chapter, we will explore the inner power that we all possess when we simply open our mouth and speak. That is correct… tell the ball where you want it to go. This is no magic trick. It is an exercise that must become a ritual practice each and every time you attempt your free-throw shot. Remember, when you shoot you must first use your anointed imagination to visualize the shot going into the basket exactly the way you want it. The process of shooting this free-throw is, in fact, an exercise in faith, prayer, and hope. As the Scriptures admonish; “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, whenye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mark 11:24).

It is really not just the believing and the hearing, but it is in the “DO-action” you take. You must begin to recognize the power to frame your game exactly the way you speak it into creation. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” (James 1:22). Believing in yourself, believing in the shot that you are about to take, telling the ball where to go with your words, and doing all of this simultaneously; knowing that it will happen as you said before it happens is the completion of the exercise in faith. Remember the biblical definition of the word of faith. Faith is always in the present, never in the future. Faith is now!
